Marc V. Schanz

Marc Schanz is the director and event manager of the Cigars, Scotch, & Strategy group in the Washington, D.C. area. He is a longtime writer and editor on defense and national security affairs who currently works on the marketing and communications team at CACI International in Reston, Virginia.

Previously, he served as publications manager at the Air Force Associations’s Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies, where he supervised the writing, editing, and production of Mitchell’s study papers, policy briefings, and other research activities. From 2005 to 2015 he was associate editor then senior editor of Air Force Magazine, the Air Force Association’s flagship aerospace and defense journal. Marc is a 2002 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and received his M.A. in International Affairs from Georgetown University in 2013.

Jeremy Gwinn

Jeremy Gwinn is the co-Director of TSB^2 in the Boston, MA area. He is an active-duty Army officer and PhD candidate at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University where his research focuses on U.S. national security policy and unconventional warfare operations after 9/11. Previously, Jeremy has served in a variety of command and staff positions in operational units, on the Army Staff, and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at West Point. 

Justin DeShazor

Justin DeShazor is the Co-Director of TSB^2 in the Boston, MA area. He is a graduate student at Harvard Kennedy School and a Graham Allison Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, where his research interests include artificial intelligence, economic statecraft, and intelligence operations. Previously, Justin served as the Lead Data Scientist for an applied artificial intelligence program at the U.S. Department of Defense and he led research teams at the AidData Center for Development Policy.
